The estate: Since its creation in 1725, 4 families have succeeded one another at the head of Château Gruaud-Larose : the Gruaud & Larose, the Balguerie & Sarget, the Cordier siblings as well as the Merlaut family (Taillan group) who is still today at the head of the estate classified as 2nd Grand Cru. Located in the southern part of the AOC Saint-Julien, the estate has a terroir of 82 hectares very well located on a plateau of deep gravel. The Merlaut family defends wines with a more delicious and gourmet profile than in the past and the fruit is given pride of place in order to make the vintages more accessible in their youth while preserving their long aging potential. An iconic Saint-Julien property with impeccable qualitative consistency.
