The wine : Gruaud Larose is an iconic estate of Saint-Julien, displaying year after year an impressive consistency in quality. This exceptional 2016 vintage confirms this statement and offers a delicious bouquet combining a deep fruitiness (blackcurrant, cherry, plum, blackberry) with a subtle spicy oakiness (cedar, vanilla, clove, pepper, roasted notes, etc.). The palate is ample and full-bodied, well balanced by the necessary freshness and endowed with excellent length. A truly great wine that will evolve beautifully over the years!

The estate : Since its creation in 1725, 4 families have succeeded one another at the head of the Château Gruaud-Larose : the Gruaud & Larose, the Balguerie & Sarget, the Cordier siblings, as well as the Merlaut family (Taillan group), who are still at the helm today of the estate, classified as a 2nd Grand Cru. Located on the southern part of the Saint-Julien AOC, the estate boasts a very well-situated 82-hectare terroir on a plateau of deep gravel. The Merlaut family champions wines with a more approachable and indulgent profile than in the past, highlighting the fruit to make the cuvées more accessible in their youth while preserving their long aging potential. An iconic Saint-Julien estate with impeccable consistency in quality.
