The estate : The two brothers Charles-Henry and Emmanuel Fourny have been at the head of the Veuve Fourny estate since 1993. They represent the 5th family generation of this superb estate whose vineyards are mainly located in Vertus (Côte des Blancs). The soils are limestone and chalky, and the winemaking process is very low-intervention (indigenous yeasts, low dosage only using sugar from grapes, etc.). The grape variety is over 90% Chardonnay and the vineyard has an average age of about 40-45 years. The estate produces terroir-driven Champagnes offering beautiful roundness and softness while maintaining superb balance and very high precision. A house that is an absolute must-know for lovers of blanc de blancs Champagnes!
