The designation Coteaux Bourguignons is quite recent as it was officially created in 2011. It covers 270 hectares and produces red and white wines within the four departments of Burgundy. The red wines can be made from the usual Pinot Noir but also from Gamay, which is very rare in Burgundy. The white wines can come from the Chardonnay grape variety but also from the Melon de Bourgogne, Aligoté, Pinot Blanc or Pinot Gris (called Pinot Beurot).
