The DOC Montello e Colli Asolani is a small and relatively young appellation created in 1977 located in the province of Treviso, in Veneto, Italy. Here, 6,000 hectares of vines extend over beautiful rolling hills and within 5 municipalities: Crocetta del Montello, Giavera del Montello, Montebelluna, Nervesa della Battaglia and Volpago del Montello. Red wines and white wines are produced here. The most common grape varieties being Cabernet-Sauvignon, Cabernet-franc, Merlot as well as Carménère for the reds, while Chardonnay, Pinot gris, Pinot blanc, Bianchetta Trevigniana and Manzoni Bianco represent the bulk of the production of the whites. The region is full of small nuggets and great little-known wines, clearly deserving all the attention of amateurs!
