The wine : This Chassagne-Montrachet Vieilles Vignes white from Maison Vincent Girardin comes from two plots in the village, Les Battaudes and la Bergerie. Around 50 years old, the Chardonnay vines draw here from clay-limestone soils a substance that is both generous and mineral. The nose opens with aromas of peach and apricot, accompanied by floral notes, citrus, and delicately integrated oak. The palate combines the enveloping richness characteristic of Chassagne-Montrachet with a freshness that lengthens the wine and brings precision. Aged for 15 months on fine lees in barrels, this cuvée has depth without losing the clarity of its fruit. A great Burgundian Chardonnay, harmonious and persistent, to be served with sole meunière, fish in sauce, or roast poultry.

The estate : Located in Meursault, Maison Vincent Girardin is both a wine estate and a négociant-éleveur house. The house cultivates its own plots and also works with partner winegrowers who share the same high standards. Manual harvesting, fermentations with indigenous yeasts, and carefully measured aging allow for the production of precise and balanced Chardonnays, as well as elegant Pinot Noirs with fine tannins. From regional appellations to Grands Crus, each cuvée seeks a balance between depth, freshness, and fidelity to its origin.
