The spirit : This exquisite Japanese Whisky is a Single Grain, meaning it is a whisky made from a blend of grains (mainly corn) from a single distillery. Creating a perfect bridge between the character of a traditional whisky and the lusciousness of a bourbon, this Coffey Grain unfolds its charming style and develops on the palate with chocolate, cocoa, and roasted aromas giving it a unique style with roundness. An absolute delight that can be enjoyed as an aperitif or as a dessert with a piece of chocolate.

The brand : Born in 1894 into a family of sake producers, Masataka Taketsuru is today considered the father of Japanese whisky . After training as a chemist, he was hired by the Settsu Shuzo company, which sent him to Scotland in 1918 to complete his apprenticeship. Masataka then developed a passion for whisky and decided to dedicate his life to it. In 1934, he built Yoichi, his first distillery, on the island of Hokkaido. Its growing success enabled it to establish a second one in 1969 near Sendai: Miyagikyo. It is from the single malts of these two distilleries that the Nikka group now offers its splendid and renowned range of Japanese whiskies.
