The spirit : The Old Rum by Neisson is a delicious blend of agricole rums aged between 3 and 9 years in French oak barrels as well as former bourbon casks. On the nose as on the palate, a great aromatic intensity emerges:  woody and spicy notes (oak, vanilla, pepper, clove) blend very harmoniously with aromas of apricot, stewed white fruits, pineapple, honey, and sugarcane. A delicate floral touch crowns the great richness of this rum. The finish is all about freshness, with vegetal notes of sugarcane. A magnificent old agricole rum for connoisseurs!

The brand : Smallest distillery in Martinique, Neisson resembles a whimsical kaleidoscope of green and pink houses that seem to have tried to imitate the surrounding lush vegetation. Since 1932, three generations have succeeded one another there, preserving know-how rooted in the greatest Martinican tradition. Grégory Vernant-Neisson, a young man in his forties at the head of the distillery, explains about his rum, which benefits from the AOC Rhum Agricole Martinique : “The first thing to know about Martinican rum is that it is made directly from sugarcane juice, not molasses.” Behind the Neisson philosophy, special attention is paid to the value of terroir. For Martinique, with its climate and volcanic soil (notably in the north of the island where the distillery is located), stamps the aromatic palette of Neisson rums with unique flavors recognized worldwide.
