Michel Couvreur - Blended Malt Whisky - Overaged

Keywords : Delicate / Floral / Generous

The spirit : Michel Couvreur's iconic cuvée, Overaged brings together several malt whiskies aged at least twelve years. Its maturation, carried out mainly in former Pedro Ximénez casks, gives it remarkable aromatic richness. The bouquet combines dried flowers, blond tobacco, almond, and the warm notes of sherry wine. Enveloping, the palate blends ripe fruits with a velvety texture, supported by a subtle smoky touch. The finish lingers elegantly on tobacco, dried fruits, and sweet spices. A complex and accomplished blended malt, to be savored slowly, slightly chilled or at cellar temperature.

The house : Located in Bouze-lès-Beaune, in the heart of Burgundy, the Michel Couvreur house upholds a unique approach to whisky, in which maturation plays a decisive role. Carefully selected distillates are refined in cellars carved into the rock, in contact with casks chosen for their ability to enrich both aroma and texture. Old Sherry casks, seasoned wood, and extended maturation thus shape whiskies with true character. Each cuvée has its own balance, from delicate freshness to the most generous depth, while maintaining the precision and elegance characteristic of this historic whisky French house.
