The spirit : This old Pineau des Charentes from the Lhéraud family offers a rare and deeply accomplished expression of a Pineau patiently aged in cask for at least 15 years. Its nose reveals intense aromas of candied fruit, walnut, fig, and fine rancio, with a hint of honey and vanilla. On the palate, the texture is velvety and perfectly balanced between sweetness and tension, enhanced by the patina of its long aging. The finish, very persistent, combines dried fruits, mild spices, and noble woodiness. An exceptional Pineau, ideal for pure tasting, dried fruit desserts, or foie gras. Big favorite!

The brand : Founded in 1680 and based in Angeac in Charente, the Guy Lhéraud house is a family business with 85 hectares of vineyards within the Crus of Cognac Petite Champagne, but also in Fins Bois and Grande Champagne. The grape varieties Ugni blanc (primarily), Colombard, and Folle Blanche are planted here on a particularly limestone terroir. Guy Lhéraud began bottling his own eaux-de-vie in the 1970s, and today his son Jean-Charles is at the head of the distillery, producing a range of great finesse and high precision.
