The spirit : Golden Promise (Origine) is a delicious French Single Malt Whisky that has been distilled and then aged in casks within the renowned Château du Breuil, in Normandy. Its uniqueness comes largely from the variety of barley used here: the Golden Promise. It is from this that this fine spirit draws its brilliant fruitiness evolving into indulgent notes of peach, pear, apricot, and nectarine. On the palate, it then develops beautiful cereal notes, elegantly blending with a lovely woodiness as well as a delicate touch of vanilla. The whole presents a wonderful length and proves that in Normandy, they also know how to produce great whiskies!

The brand : Built at the beginning of the 16th century, the Château du Breuil is a place steeped in history. Indeed, since the French Revolution, several owners have succeeded one another there and various economic activities have taken place: linen spinning, cheese making, chocolate making, cider making, etc. Nevertheless, it has been a Calvados distillery that has occupied the site since 1954. The property now covers 42 hectares on which more than 800 varieties of apples grow (sweet, bitter, bittersweet, tart). After belonging to the Swiss group Diwisa for about thirty years, the company returned to French ownership in April 2020 and expanded its activity to other spirits: whiskies (distilled on site) and rums (aged on site) are now part of the range and are of superb quality. Today, the brand's reputation is international and does honor to French expertise.
