The wine: This white Châteauneuf-du-Pape from the Usseglio brothers is a great tasting cuvée aged 60% in oak barrels and 40% in stainless steel vats and amphorae. It reveals itself with beautiful notes of toasted bread, butter and vanilla but the fruit is not left out with beautiful ripe aromas of pear, apricot, mirabelle plum and peach. A touch of white flowers completes the panorama and also contributes to the definition of this great white wine from the Rhône Valley. A delight!

The estate: The Châteauneuvoise history of the Usseglio family dates back to 1931 , the year during which Francis Usseglio left Italy to settle in Châteauneuf-du-Pape and work there as an agricultural worker. In 1948, the latter had the opportunity to exploit 8 hectares of vines in sharecropping and therefore decided to create his own estate. His son Pierre will take over and continue to develop the family business. Now comprising 39 hectares including 25 from Châteauneuf-du-Pape, 6 from Lirac, 6 from Côtes-du-Rhône and 2 from AOC Vin de France, the vineyard is today managed by Pierre's 2 sons: Jean-Pierre and Thierry Usseglio. The two brothers look after a very beautiful heritage of vines, half of which are over 65 years old, as well as a wide variety of terroirs including the famous rolled pebbles but also clay-limestone and sandy soils. The estate has today become a benchmark farm in the region and all production enjoys a very high quality level thanks to superb work in the vineyard and in the cellars.
