The wine : With 26 hectares, the climat Les Clos is the largest of the Grands Crus in Chablis. Benefiting from a southwest exposure, this exceptional terroir enjoys optimal sunlight and also has a slope that promotes ripeness. This cuvée from Domaine Garnier & Fils captures the very essence of this plot.

Indeed, this wine first impresses with its minerality as well as its beautiful salinity coming from the limestone soils of this climat. The tension is nevertheless perfectly counterbalanced by 18 months of aging in wood, bringing roundness and indulgence thanks to notes of butter, brioche, vanilla, hazelnut, as well as a subtle touch of oak. The aromatic profile also evolves towards fruit with notes of citrus, apple, apricot, and pear. A truly great bottle that will reveal its full potential after a few years of cellaring.

The estate : Located in Ligny-le-Châtel, north of Chablis, the Domaine Garnier & Fils is a family estate run by two brothers: Jérôme and Xavier. One in the cellar, the other in the vineyard, the two partners each have their own area of expertise on this 30-hectare vineyard located within the AOC Chablis and Petit Chablis. The Premiers Crus and Grands Crus actually come from grapes purchased from partner winegrowers. However, the selection here is strict and the plots are chosen with great care in order to create outstanding terroir wines! The aging process is no less subtle, varying between stainless steel tanks, large oak vats, and oak barrels, without ever overpowering the wines. The yeasts used for fermentation are also indigenous, and only a very light filtration is carried out before bottling to impact the cuvées as little as possible. Discover their range of Chablis wines with great character!
