The wine : Domaine Cheveau’s Pouilly-Fuissé Premier Cru Pouilly brings together everything we love about fine white Burgundy: generous fruit, a silky texture and freshness that beautifully balances its richness. Peach, pear and mirabelle plum mingle with citrus, complemented by delicate buttery notes and a hint of vanilla. On the palate, its rounded texture gradually reveals a fine mineral backbone, lending definition and carrying the flavours through an elegant finish. Already very appealing, this Chardonnay will also reward a few years in the cellar with greater complexity. Enjoy it with poultry in a cream sauce or butter-roasted fish. The estate : Located in the heart of the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation, the Cheveau estate covers 20 hectares (15 of Chardonnay and 5 of Gamay) spread between Davayé and Saint-Amour. Nicolas, Julien, and Aurélie tend their vines with great care, allowing a precise expression of the terroirs in each of their cuvées. The harvest is manual and each plot is vinified separately in demi-muids, foudres, or stainless steel tanks. Additives are kept to a minimum so that each bottle is the truest expression of its origin. A great estate offering excellent wines of consistent quality!
