The spirit : This Cognac VSOP from the Guy Lhéraud house perfectly plays the card of balance and indulgence. Composed of a blend of eaux-de-vie aged for at least 5 years in barrels, this delicious spirit reveals on the palate aromas of stewed white fruits, caramelized orange peels as well as sweet notes of vanilla. The brand : Founded in 1680 and based in Angeac in Charente, the Guy Lhéraud house is a family business with 85 hectares of vineyards within the Crus of Cognac Petite Champagne but also in Fins Bois and Grande Champagne. The grape varieties Ugni Blanc (mainly), Colombard, and Folle Blanche are planted here on a particularly chalky terroir. Guy Lhéraud began bottling his own eaux-de-vie in the 1970s, and today his son Jean-Charles is at the head of the distillery, producing a range of great finesse and high precision.
