The wine : Another delicious Cahors offered by the Croisille family! The Silice cuvée comes from a rare terroir within the appellation, notably composed of siliceous and ferruginous red clay soils. These lands express abeautiful character in this Malbec, as well as a lovely aromatic depth. The Croisille touch is, of course, always present, bringing finesse and light tannins. On the palate, aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant, and black cherry mingle with some smoky notes as well as a very noble peppery and vegetal touch. A bottle that will pair ideally with white and red meats, or even with certain cheeses such as Tomme, Brie, or Saint-Nectaire. Don’t hesitate to go for it!

The estate : In 1979, Bernard and Cécile Croisille arrived in the commune of Luzech, very close to Cahors, with no technical background but with a burning passion for the land and a life project. After difficult first years of planting and clearing their 7 hectares, the first harvest finally arrived in 1984. Initially involved in the cooperative system, the couple decided 10 years later to vinify their own cuvées. In 2000, a brand new winery was built and things accelerated when Germain, their second son, joined the estate. Then, Nicolas, Germain’s childhood friend, also joined the business in 2012. In 2013, the estate was officially converted to organic farming and in 2015 it was finally Simon, the youngest of the Croisille siblings, who joined the family adventure in 2015. In recent years, the wines have continued to gain in precision and the Croisille family now has around thirty hectares, allowing them to offer a fine range of wines from easy-drinking cuvées to complex and refined Cahors.
