The wine: One of the greatest white wines of the Rhône! This is how this sublime Châteauneuf-du-Pape from Château Beaucastel could be defined. Mainly composed of the Roussanne grape variety (80% of the blend), this delicious cuvée is indeed expressed with a lot of refinement and elegance. A great minerality and aromatic purity thus emanate from the glass. The palate is saline, gourmet and offers notes of peach, apricot, pear and honey, completed by a magnificent floral touch (hawthorn, honeysuckle) as well as beautiful aromas of butter and vanilla. The finish is very persistent and is delicately mineral. A very great wine that can be enjoyed now but also has enormous aging potential!

The estate: The Château de Beaucastel extends over 100 hectares of vines of which 3/4 are in AOC Châteauneuf-du-Pape (the remaining 1/4 being in AOC Côtes-du-Rhône). The property has a terroir with porous soils, composed mainly of rolled pebbles and is the first vineyard in the Rhône Valley certified in Organic Agriculture since 1964. The operation is also one of the only ones to use in its wines the 13 grape varieties authorized in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Run by the Perrin family, iconic siblings of the region and wine in France, Château de Beaucastel simply represents the elite of its appellation and enthusiasts snap up the property's vintages year after year.
