The wine: This delicious Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut is probably the most pure and consensual of the champagnes in the Fourny brothers' range. The elegance of Chardonnay is particularly felt here and the aromatics express citrus notes as well as a beautiful gourmandise carried by aromas of hazelnut, almond, brioche and toast. The bubble is fine and airy and a pretty mineral imprint also emerges from the whole. An ideal Champagne as an aperitif or at the table and which will delight all palates!

The estate: The two brothers Charles-Henry and Emmanuel Fourny have been at the head of the domaine Veuve Fourny since 1993. They represent the 5th family generation of this superb estate whose vines are mainly located in Vertus (Côte des Blancs). The soils are limestone, chalky and the winemaking process is very non-interventionist (native yeasts, low dosages only made with sugar from grapes, etc.). The grape varieties are more than 90% made up of Chardonnay and the vineyard has an average age of around 40-45 years. The estate produces local Champagnes offering beautiful roundness and tenderness while maintaining superb balance and very great precision. A must-know house for lovers of blanc de blanc champagnes!
