The wine : This delicious Crianza El Andén de la Estación (The Station Platform) from the Muga estate offers an excellent value for money for those happily discovering the wines of this flagship region, Rioja. Here, fruit and elegance are highlighted and enhanced by 14 months of aging in oak barrels. The texture is smooth, the tannins are round, and a rich and complex aromatic profile unfolds both on the nose and the palate. The estate : Family estate founded in 1932 by Isaac Muga and Aurora Caño, Bodega Muga is today a true emblem of Spanish winemaking, and particularly of Rioja. Now owning 250 hectares (and sourcing additionally from 150 ha of partner winegrowers), the estate is the only one in the country to have its own coopers, allowing it to perfectly control the aging of its wines by adapting the types of wood and barrel toasting to the personality of each wine. The Tempranillo grape is the star of the estate, alongside Grenache, Mazuelo (Carignan), and Graciano for the reds.
