The spirit : The Armagnac Napoléon 10 years old from the house of Baron Gaston Legrand is a superb eau-de-vie that is complex, elegant, and highly aromatic. Delicious fruity notes (peach, apricot, mirabelle) and floral notes (acacia, hawthorn) emerge during tasting, wrapped in a lovely texture as well as a smooth alcohol. Notes of raisin and vanilla are also present and provide a very indulgent balance to the whole. A great Armagnac for a moment of contemplation!

The brand : Founded in 1680 and based in Angeac in Charente, the Guy Lhéraud house is a family business with 85 hectares of vineyards within the Crus of Cognac Petite Champagne, as well as in Fins Bois and Grande Champagne. The grape varieties Ugni Blanc (mainly), Colombard, and Folle Blanche are planted here on a particularly chalky terroir. Guy Lhéraud began bottling his own eaux-de-vie in the 1970s, and today his son Jean-Charles heads the distillery, producing a range of great finesse and high precision.

In 1998, Guy Lhéraud purchased the Armagnacs Baron Gaston Legrand, a former producer in the Bas-Armagnac appellation. The good preservation of the buildings, cellars, and historic stills is a guarantee of quality and thus allows for the best vinification and excellent distillation of the cultivated grape varieties. Marked by excellence, all Armagnacs Baron Gaston Legrand are aged in typical Gascony oak barrels as well as in Limousin black oak. The estate has specialized in the production and maturation of vintage Armagnacs of great finesse. In fact, in the Lhéraud family’s private cellar, you can find Armagnacs dating back to 1888!
