The IGP Coteaux de l'Ardèche is a very vast appellation covering 7,500 hectares between the Ardèche and the Gard. It is a land of contrasts, between its mountain to the west, its plateaus and its valleys. The garrigue marks the landscapes and the soils are very varied although mainly clay-limestone. The main grape varieties in red are merlot, grenache and cinsault while grenache blanc, viognier and chardonnay represent the bulk of white production. To the north of the IGP, the vineyards benefit from a temperate climate, while to the south, heat and drought are important markers, producing sunny and warm wines.
