The wine : Première Pierre Blanc is a remarkable Châteauneuf-du-Pape white that is both rich, charming, and remarkably well-balanced. Made from a typical blend of the region (Clairette, Grenache blanc and Bourboulenc), this delicious Rhône Valley white wine opens with notes of toasted bread, fresh butter, and vanilla, quickly joined by generous fruitiness reminiscent of ripe pear, white peach, mirabelle plum, and apricot. A few hints of white flowers also bring finesse and elegance to the whole. The palate is supported by a beautiful texture and a well-integrated freshness that avoids any heaviness. The finish, long and flavorful, leaves an impression that is both creamy and indulgent, signature of the great white wines of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. An appealing and expressive cuvée, ideal for pairing with a noble fish or poultry in cream sauce. Exquisite !

The estate :  The Châteauneuvoise history of the Usseglio family dates back to 1931, the year during which Francis Usseglio left Italy to settle in Châteauneuf-du-Pape and work there as an agricultural laborer.In 1948, he had the opportunity to farm 8 hectares of vines under sharecropping and thus decided to create his own estate. His son Pierre would succeed him and continue to develop the family business. Now comprising 39 hectares, including 25 of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, 6 of Lirac, 6 of Côtes-du-Rhône, and 2 under the AOC Vin de France, the vineyard is today managed by Pierre's 2 sons : Jean-Pierre and Thierry Usseglio. The two brothers oversee a remarkable heritage of vines, half of which are over 65 years old, as well as a great variety of terroirs, including the famous rolled pebbles but also clay-limestone and sandy soils. The estate has now become a benchmark operation in the region, and all production enjoys a very high level of quality thanks to outstanding work both in the vineyard and in the cellars.
