The wine : Rémus is a magnificent white wine that stands out for its finesse and complexity. On the nose as well as on the palate, the aromatic bouquet is enticing and expresses notes of white-fleshed fruits (pear, apple), quince, white flowers, as well as a subtle mineral touch, typical of the estate’s clay-limestone soils. A measured aging in oak barrels also brings a beautiful roundness to the tasting, supported by a creamy and slightly buttery texture. The near-perfect balance of this cuvée, between minerality, fruit, and roundness, makes this bottle an ideal companion for seafood, fish, and fresh goat cheeses. A real treat !

The estate : Located in the heart of the Montlouis-sur-Loire appellation, the Domaine de la Taille aux Loups is one of the jewels of the Loire Valley. Brought to excellence by Jacky Blot, the estate has, since 2023, year of his unfortunate passing, been under the direction of his son Jean-Philippe. The vineyard covers 45 hectares, entirely dedicated to the Chenin grape variety. Here, the vines are rooted in varied terroirs, composed of clay-limestone and sandy soils, giving the cuvées remarkable purity and complexity. The work is carried out with respect for nature, using an organic approach and manual harvesting, ensuring an authentic expression of the terroir. The estate is particularly renowned for its exceptionally refined dry white wines, as well as its elegant sparkling and distinguished sweet wines, all with impressive aging potential.
