The AOC Pomerol is located on the Bordeaux right bank and touches the appellation Saint-Émilion. Extending over 800 hectares, the area has no official classification unlike its famous neighbor or the Médoc region. However, many properties are on par with the great castles present in these famous hierarchies, such as the very famous Château Pétrus. The terroir of the appellation is distinguished from the surrounding areas by a significant presence of clay soils. The variety Merlot is the undisputed king here, representing nearly 85% of plantations. The wines are renowned for being very seductive, combining a fruity gourmet, fine and intense with a full and velvety texture.
