Buy AOC Madiran wines

The AOC Madiran extends over 1400 hectares within 3 departments: Gers, Pyrénées Atlantiques and Hautes Pyrénées . Cradle of the indigenous grape variety Tannat, the appellation overlaps with Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh, producing white wines in the same area with the Gros and Petit Manseng grape varieties. There is plenty of sunshine here during summer and mild winters, favoring high ripeness at harvest time. Tannat gives structured and tannic wines, allowing them to age well in the cellar. The latter is sometimes blended with the varieties cabernet-franc, cabernet-sauvignon (locally called fer servadou).
