The white grape variety Sémillon is known for its great versatility and its ability to produce delicious white wines ranging from dry to sweet. Originally from the region of Bordeaux, this one is characterized by a thick skin as well as a great aptitude for noble rot (Botrytis cinerea ), contributing in particular to the production of the famous sweet wines of AOC Sauternes. Also used in the creation of dry, rich and complex white wines, Sémillon is notably present in AOC Entre-deux-mers, Bordeaux and Pessac-Léognan. The aromas of Sémillon vary according to the style of wine produced: notes of stone fruits (peach, apricot) and citrus fruits for dry wines, and aromas of honey, candied apricot and roasted peach for sweet wines.
