The wine : The îlot de Haut-Bergeron is the only Sauternes that can boast of coming from a unique location on an island in the Ciron river classified as NATURA 2000 (biodiversity protection). The vines on this 4-hectare plot are now on average 25 years old and produce a sweet wine with an excellent quality-price ratio, offering exotic aromas, of overripe peach and apricot, as well as acacia honey. A beautiful buttery and vanilla texture also characterizes this cuvée, maintaining a lovely freshness. An excellent Sauternes to enjoy in its relative youth (under 10 years) with blue-veined cheeses or as a dessert.

The estate : Château Haut-Bergeron has been a family estate for 9 generations (the first written records date back to 1756) and belongs to the Lamothe family. With 47 hectares mainly composed of Sauvignon and Sémillon, the estate is a benchmark of the Sauternes AOC. With illustrious neighbors such as Châteaux Suduiraut and Yquem, Haut-Bergeron easily stands at the level of many classified growths in the region in terms of quality, while remaining accessible in price. The family can be proud of its heritage of old vines, which it vinifies with great care and remarkable consistency. A true gem to discover!
