The wine: This delicious second white wine from the illustrious Château Smith Haut Lafitte is a real favorite! Composed of 100% sauvignon, this cuvée nevertheless departs from the usual characteristics of this grape variety and is distinguished by a remarkable aromatic richness. The body here is enveloping and creamy while the aromatic develops on notes of butter, vanilla and oak. A ripe fruitiness is also present, evoking peach, pear as well as a touch of citrus on the finish. A great white wine complex and delicious with a heady length!

The estate: Since 1990, Daniel and Florence Cathiard direct this absolute reference of Pessac-Léognan which is the Château Smith Haut Lafitte. And what a journey! If today the wines of the property are among the very best in the region, the vines were nevertheless almost abandoned at the time of the purchase by the couple! Having detected the fantastic potential of this gravel terroir, the Cathiards have indeed succeeded in radically transforming the property. Today, the vineyard has 80 hectares (68 in red and 12 in white), officially certified organic since the 2019 vintage and enabling the production of wines of absolutely grandiose finesse and complexity.
