Wine: This large format from La Croix Dompierre is a Haut- Médoc displaying a good maturity and a complex aromatics on black fruits, spices (cloves, pepper) as well as a pretty elegant woodiness. Marked by the power of Cabernet Sauvignon, it is nevertheless a wine perfectly balanced by its suave touch of Merlot. It can be drunk now but is able to improve over 10 to 15 years without any problem. Its aromas will then evolve towards leather and humus and its tannins will have integrated perfectly. A treat to share!

The estate: With different plots within the Médoc, Haut -Médoc and Pauillac but on the same gravelly stony soil, Michel Aroldi has been at the head of Château Dompierre since 2013. On just over 11 hectares, he cherishes his vines with great care, mainly Cabernet-Sauvignon. Very straddling the maturities and the quality of the grapes harvested each year, the harvest is always carried out manually and the yeasts used in vinification are indigenous. The wines are also not subjected to filtration or fining in order to respect the juices produced as much as possible. Château Dompierre offers great wines of character and aging with a beautiful aromatic depth. A treat for all Bordeaux lovers!
