The wine: This very pretty Chianti Classico is an excellent dining companion . Evolving into delicious spicy notes of cinnamon, clove and pepper, this pure Tuscan product also develops beautiful fruity aromas (plum, cherry) tinged with 'a touch of undergrowth brought by a fine oak. Enjoyable now, do not hesitate to keep this bottle in the cellar for a few years, it will refine its tannins and develop notes of leather and humus. A treat!

The estate: Rocca di Castagnoli is a ancient medieval fortress which was the origin of the hamlet of Castagnoli. Located in the very heart of Chianti Classico, this village esurrounded by woods, vineyards and olive treesoverlooksthe surrounding valley from the top of a small hill. Throughout its history, this noble place has belonged to numerous families, including the Tempi in the 18th century whose coat of arms still embodies the estate today. Fromsince 1981, it is the Calì family who watches over the property's 92 hectares of vines, composed mainly of Sangiovese. The siblings invested a lot and carried out significant work to replant the vineyard and restructure, making the house a sure value in the region.
