Wine: What a slap in the face this 1985 vintage is! This red natural sweet wine underwent oxidative aging outdoors for 1 year in demijohns followed by 27 years (!) in oak casks. The result is a unique cuvée with a brick color in which aromas of prune and jammy black fruits mingle with notes of mocha, cocoa, dried fig, walnut and pepper in a sublime balance. A bottle to enjoy with blue-veined cheeses or chocolate desserts. A treat of complexity and delicacy!

The estate: Since its creation in 1816, the Mas Amiel has been the spearhead of the great natural sweet wines of the Roussillon region. Bought in 1999 by Olivier Decelle (also owner of Château Jean Faure in Saint-Émilion and the Decelle estate in Burgundy), the estate today covers 155 hectares with mainly schist and clay-limestone soils. Since the beginning of the century, the vineyard has been converted to organic farming and is an absolute reference in Languedoc-Roussillon.
