The wine : This 1er Cru Les Naugues from the Raquillet family is a magnificent Pinot noir structured and cut for laying down. On the palate, a generous substance is offered to the taster, accompanied by an intense fruity evolving on cherry black and blackberry. A beautiful tannic base is also present and small notes of toasted bread and vanilla are brought by aging in barrels contributing to the beautiful complexity of this great wine of the Côte Chalonnaise. A treat to enjoy at the table with white and red meats!

The estate: Coming from a line of 11-generation winemakers, François Raquillet has started working the vineyard with his father in 1984 and took over the estate in 1990 with his wife Emmanuelle. From then on, he made significant changes to the working philosophy by decreasing yields and introducing the use of premium barrels. The estate now operates 14 hectares of vines (75% Pinot Noir, 25% Chardonnay) within the AOC Mercurey in Côte Chalonnaise and offers a diversified range of high-level white and red wines. Since 2018, their daughter Jeanne has joined them on the estate and the family continuity of the farm is therefore assured.
