DOCG Barolo is one of the finest Italian wine appellations. This one is located in the region of Piedmont and its name comes simply from the small town of Barolo. Covering approximately 1,700 hectares, the appellation has only one grape variety: Nebbiolo, producing cuvées pale in colour, aromatically very intense, with fine tannins and aging potentialsignificant. The vines are located on rolling hills and at an altitude between 150 and 450m. The terroir clay-limestone and sometimes sandy brings out the best of the grape variety here and makes Barolo the "king of wines, wine of kings", like the famous saying says so.
