The AOC Terrasses du Larzac is a young appellation created in 2014 and located north of Montpellier. The latter extends over nearly 2,000 hectares and produces exclusively red wines based on Syrah grape varieties, grenache and mourvèdre, the latter can be supplemented with carignan and cinsault. The region experiences great thermal amplitudes between day and night, allowing a lot of freshness to be expressed in the wines despite the Mediterranean climate From a terroir point of view, the soils of the Terrasses du Larzac are quite varied, evolving between shale, sandstone and limestone.
