The Spirit: "Tailored" is the Whisky Blended Malt Premium from Nikka. Assembled with precision and delicacy, this exceptional Japanese spirit is mainly composed of barley malt from the group's two distilleries (Yoichi and Miyagikyo) as well as grain whisky. The result is a perfect symbol of balance, roundness and softness. Its nose resolutely develops into a fruity universe (apple, apricot, peach) as well as notes of honey and cocoa. Home : Born in 1894 in a family of sake producers, Masataka Taketsuru is today considered the father of Japanese whisky. After training as a chemist, he was hired by the Settsu Shuzo company, which sent him to Scotland in 1918 to do his apprenticeship. Masataka then fell in love with whiskey and decided to devote his life to it. In 1934, he built Yoichi, his first distillery, on the island of Hokkaido. His growing success will allow him to establish a second in 1969 near Sendai: Miyagikyo. It is from the single malts of these two distilleries that the group Nikka delivers today the entirety of its splendid and renowned range of Japanese whiskies.
