Wine: Are you a fan of powerful and complex wines? Amarone is for you! This great wine, definitely one of the elite of Italian wines, offers incredible richness and complexity to the taster. The harvested grapes are left here on straw trays for a hundred days (passing). The result is a loss of water within the berries of 40% on average, creating aromas of crazy intensity. When it opens, it's a real festival: candied fruit (blackcurrant, blackberry, cherry), heady spices (clove, cinnamon, pepper), tobacco , chocolate, fig etc. A bottle of very high quality which must be decanted when opened and which will be appreciated with red meats or game. The Estate: The Estate The Calendre is a family farm with 4 hectares extending over the municipality of San Pietro in Cariano, north of Verona and in the heart of the DOC Valpolicella Classico. Here, the vines are cultivated thanks to a system of pergolas providing the grapes with more light and wind, thus favoring maturity and making it possible to avoid certain diseases. At the estate, the work is hand-sewn and every detail is important, from the care given to the vines throughout the year to the precision of the smallest gesture during vinification. Although not officially certified, the cultivation methods such as the techniques used in the winery are similar to organic farming. Discover this small estate producing wines of great finesse and worthily representing the region as well as its Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Molinara grape varieties.
