The wine : This superb Port is a blend of wines that have aged at least 10 years in barrels. It expresses a great complexity mixing aromas of caramel, toffee, spices (clove, nutmeg) and roasted (cocoa, coffee). The balance is very fair and the whole combines power and softness. A real delight to enjoy as an aperitif or with a beautiful chocolate dessert!

The house : The company Ramos Pinto was founded in 1880 and today has a superb heritage of 350 hectares of vines located in the 3 Douro regions (Lower Corgo, Upper Corgo and Upper Douro) in Portugal to produce red and white wines as well as exceptional Ports. In 1990, the company was taken over by the Roederer family business. Under the Ramos Pinto banner are several properties, namely Quinta do Bom Retiro, Quinta da Urtiga, Quinta dos Bon Ares and Quinta da Ervamoira. The terroir of the latter which interests us here is made up of 150 hectares of mostly granite soils.
