Wine: This 20-year-old amber-coloured Mas Amiel delights us with its great aromatic complexityand its finesse. gourmet notes of chocolate and coffee run through the palate, accompanied by aromas of dried fruits (grape, fig, walnut, hazelnut ), sweet spices (cinnamon, liquorice, pepper) as well as candied red and black fruits (cherries, prunes). The tasting ends in a heady and very digestible length. The set works wonderfully on blue-veined cheeses (Bleu, Roquefort etc.) or chocolate desserts. A great treat!

The domain: Since its creation in 1816, the Mas Amiel has been the spearhead of the great natural sweet wines of the Roussillon region. Bought in 1999 by Olivier Decelle (also owner of Château Jean Faure in Saint-Émilion and the Decelle estate in Burgundy), the estate today covers 155 hectares with mainly schist and clay-limestone soils. Since the beginning of the century, the vineyard has been converted to organic farming and is an absolute reference in Languedoc-Roussillon.
