The Domaine des Schistes delights us here with this Muscat de Rivesaltes with exotic aromas (mango, pineapple) and sweet notes of peach, apricot and acacia honey. The Estate: Located in Estagel to the northwest of Perpignan, the Domaine des Schistes belongs to the Sire family, winegrowers since the beginning of the 19th century. Jacques Sire left the domain of the cooperative system in 1989 and it is today his son, Mickaël, who runs the property. The wines have been certified in Organic Farming since 2010 and are notably produced in AOC Côtes du Roussillon, Maury, Muscat de Rivesaltes and IGP Côtes Catalanes. The 48 hectares of the property are divided into several islets and evolve mainly on schist soils (as the name of the estate suggests!). Carignan and LLadoner Pelut are the stars in red while Grenache blanc, Grenache Gris and Macabeu represent the majority of the composition of the whites. The estate's cuvées are very varied: some are focused on fruit and immediate pleasure while others are deep, complex and deserve to be kept in the cellar for several years. Freshness is a thread common to all wines. A beautiful family estate in Roussillon.
