The wine: To talk about this superb cuvée Vent de Spilite, we must first mention the terroir of this parcel of the Ogereau estate: the wind on one side, blowing a continuous breeze on the vines located at the top of the hillside, then the spilite , volcanic rock bringing a very beautiful mineral and saline textureas well as a sacred energy to this bottle. The Chenin expresses here all its class with notes of citrus fruits, pear and honey while the aging carried out in oak barrels but also in tuns and amphoras brings a nice roundness on aromas of butter, vanilla as well as a touch of dried fruits (hazelnut, walnut). Certainly one of the most beautiful wines of Anjou in this tense and complex style!

The estate: Slocated in Val-du-Layon to the south of Angers, the domaine Ogereau today reaches 24 hectares and has been certified in Organic Agriculture since 2019. Emmanuel and his parents produce wines of all colors in AOC Anjou, Anjou-Villages, Savennières, Côteaux-du-Layon and Quarts-de-Chaume. Thanks to Vincent Ogereau, the property has built a solid reputation since the 1980s and produces wines where the terroir is expressed in a great precision. Since 2014, it is Emmanuel (5^th generation) who continues this work of constant identity research. The harvest is manual, indigenous yeasts and the use of sulfur in winemaking is minimal. The terroir is mainly composed of shales, sands as well as volcanic rocks. The range of wines is wide, but the minerality, the richness of the fruit and the class of aging are strong markers of this great estate in Anjou.
