The domain: In 2014, Matthieu Ponson created the Domaine de Piéblanc following a crush. Initially endowed with 7 hectares, the property quickly developed, counting today 38, split between the AOC Beaumes-de-Venise (15 hectares), Ventoux (10 hectares), Côtes-du-Rhône (7 hectares) and Gigondas (6 hectares). Located at the foot of Mont Ventoux, the plots of the vineyard benefit from a warm Mediterranean climate and are mostly located around 300m above sea level, allowing them to preserve beautiful freshness and acidity in the wines produced. Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault and Carignan constitute almost all of the grape varieties growing on a poor clay-limestone and sandy soil, requiring the vines to dive deep in order to find the necessary nutrients. The estate has been officially certified in Organic Agriculture since 2020 and the last plots purchased in 2021 by Matthieu (in particular those of the Bourdon cuvée in Côtes-du-Rhône) are in the process of being converted. Discover this very attractive domain in full expansion and whose wines will certainly delight you!
