The estate: Bought in 1820 by Jean-Dominique Laudet, Château Laballe was initially known above all for its very fine production of Armagnacs. Nevertheless, a few generations later, the estate opened up to the world of wine thanks to Noël Laudet in the 1970s. The vineyard now covers 17 hectares and has been run since 2007 by the 8th generation, embodied by Cyril, accompanied by his wife Julia. The terroir here is very atypical and the vines plunge into what is called "tawny sands", well known in Bas-Armagnac where they are the soils of choice. The estate was the first to produce wines on this terroir bringing minerality and freshness to the wines and spirits produced. A pretty farm steeped in history to absolutely discover!
