The wine: Iconic property of Saint-Julien with superb qualitative consistency, Château Gruaud Larose gives us access here with its Sarget vintage to a second wine of very fine quality. Ready to drink and from a very fine vintage, a dense substance of black fruits dances around an elegant woodiness and robust but already well polished tannins. A beautiful floral mark also marks this cuvée giving a lovely complexity to the whole. A real treat typical of Saint-Julien!

The estate: Since its creation in 1725, 4 families have succeeded one another at the head of Château Gruaud-Larose: the Gruaud & Larose, the Balguerie & Sarget, the Cordier siblings as well as the Merlaut family (Taillan group) which is still at the head today from the estate classified as 2nd Grand Cru. Located in the southern part of the AOC Saint-Julien, the estate has a terroir of 82 hectares very well located on a plateau of deep gravel. The Merlaut family defends wines with a more delicious and gourmet profile than in the past and the fruit is given pride of place in order to make the vintages more accessible in their youth while preserving their long aging potential. An iconic Saint-Julien property with impeccable qualitative consistency.
