Purchase AOC Cahors wines

Created in 1971, the AOC Cahors now covers 3,300 hectares in the Lot department. Producing only red wines, the local star here is the Malbec (also called Côt), producing vintages with an intense black color. It can sometimes be accompanied in small quantities by Merlot as well as Tannat. The vines are mainly located on flat surfaces with clay-limestone soils and more rarely on steep slopes.The climate is oceanic and Mediterranean, giving the region significant sunshine during the summer, promoting beautiful ripeness in the grapes. While the appellation is renowned for its production of robust and structured wines, a new wave (of which Château Les Croisille is a part) now offers a more modern range, evolving towards an intense and velvety fruitiness, with more delicacy and finesse.
