The wine: With the vintages La Migoua and Cabassaou, La Tourtine is one of the finest plots of the Tempier estate but also one the greatest wines of the Bandol appellation.  Coming from an exceptional terroir of 5.5 hectares located on a windy hillside facing south at approximately 200m altitude, La Tourtine combines power and elegance.

Mourvedre imposes its mark and its concentration here. The aromatic, impressively accurate, evolves into deep notes of ripe black fruits (blackcurrant, blackberry, cherry, plum) combined with rich spices (garrigue, pepper, liquorice). The body becomes rounded thanks to the 18 months of aging in barrels, bringing fine oaky, vanilla and roasted notes. An exceptional vintage intended for very long aging and which will enchant you with its tertiary aromas if you give it time to reach its peak!

The estate: Iconic property of Provence, the domaine Tempier is one of the pioneers who allowed the creation of the Bandol appellation in 1941. The Peyraud family and Daniel Ravier, the director of the property, make the most of their 60 hectares, composed of Mourvèdre (more than 40 hectares) but also Grenache noir, Cinsault, Carignan and Syrah. The 5 hectares of white are distributed between the varieties Clairette (65%), Ugni blanc, Bourboulenc, Marsanne and Rolle. The estate has an exceptional heritage of very old vines allowing the production of three iconic vintages: La Migoua, La Tourtine, and Cabassaou. Red wines, as well as rosés and whites, are impressively consistent in quality here and deserve the full attention of wine lovers.
