The wine: With its cuvée Royale Réserve Brut, Philipponnat certainly produces one of the very best non-vintage Brut champagnes from the great houses of the region. Composed of a majority of Pinot noir giving a deep character to the whole, this beautiful champagne evolves on a precise aromatic, graceful, slightly winey and revealing notes of toast, citrus, peach, honey as well as a gourmet touch of brioche. An elegant mineral frame emphasizes the whole and the bubbles express great finesse. A remarkable champagne that will be enjoyed as an aperitif or during a fine meal!

The Domain: For more than 5 centuries now (1522), Philipponnat showcases the great terroirs of the villages of Ay, Mareuil-sur-Ay and Avenay, all located south of the Montagne de Reims. Since 2000, Charles Philipponnat has been at the head of this beautiful Champagne house and it is largely thanks to his initiative that we owe the impressive qualitative progress of the brand. Composed of 20 hectares, the vast majority of which are Pinot Noir, the house's vineyard is exclusively spread over Premier Cru and Grand Cru villages. The estate's finest grapes undoubtedly come from the famous Clos des Goisses, a unique and very qualitative plot of 5.5 hectares with a southern exposure that the family has been running for over 100 years now. The style of the house wines could be summed up in 3 words: richness, complexity and precision. The use of 25 to 35% of reserve wines kept in barrels gives the cuvées produced a remarkable taste intensity as well as an aromatic richness that delight connoisseurs.
