The IGP Collines Rhodaniennes covers 765 hectares spread over 5 departments (Rhône, Ardèche, Isère, Drôme, Loire) within the Rhône Valley vineyard. Here, the dominant grape variety is Syrah, although many other varieties can be used. For whites, Viognier as well as Marsanne and Roussanne represent the majority of production. 60% of the production here is dedicated to red wines compared to about 37% of white wines and 4% of rosés. The soils of the area are mainly granite-based and promote excellent ripeness. Little known, this IGP nevertheless offers cuvées with excellent value for money and allows for a delightful introduction to the wines of the northern Rhône Valley.
