The wine: The vintage Sur le mont proves once again that the Mâconnais appellations deserve more reputation and are currently among the best value for money in Burgundy! This beautiful bottle indeed constitutes an ideal link between roundness and minerality. Here, beautiful aromas of citrus, peach, pear and Mirabelle plum combine with gourmet but subtle notes of butter and vanilla coming from a third of the aging carried out in oak barrels. An excellent Chardonnay gourmet and fruity from Domaine Cheveau!

The estate: Located in the heart of the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation, the domaine Cheveau extends over 20 hectares (15 of Chardonnay and 5 of Gamay) spread out between Davayé and Saint-Amour. Nicolas, Julien and Aurélie manage their vines with great care, allowing a precise expression of the terroirs in each of their cuvées. The harvest is manual and each plot is vinified separately in demi-muids, tuns or stainless steel vats. Inputs are limited as much as possible so that each bottle is the truest expression of its origin. A large estate offering excellent wines of consistent quality!
