The wine: Here is a very pretty Chardonnay from Beaujolais without added sulphites! Endowed with great vivacity, the “Les Pouliches” vintage is the latest from the Cheveau estate. Perfectly made, it is expressed with tender notes of citrus fruits (lemon, grapefruit), peach and pear but is also crossed by a delicious mineral framework. A treat of great precision and finesse which is sufficient in itself as an aperitif but which will also pair perfectly with salads, seafood and fish.

The estate: Located in the heart of the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation, the domaine Cheveau extends over 20 hectares (15 of Chardonnay and 5 of Gamay) spread out between Davayé and Saint-Amour. Nicolas, Julien and Aurélie manage their vines with great care, allowing a precise expression of the terroirs in each of their vintages. The harvest is manual and each plot is vinified separately in demi-muids, tuns or stainless steel vats. Inputs are limited as much as possible so that each bottle is the truest expression of its origin. A large estate offering excellent wines of consistent quality!
