The estate: Chavy is a large family of winegrowers from Puligny-Montrachet. In 1997, brothers Alain and Jean-Louis took over the estate from their father, Gérard Chavy. In 2003, they decided to create two separate vineyards and therefore divided the family farm equitably. Today, Alain reigns over 10 hectares of vines, mainly in AOC Puligny-Montrachet, where he has numerous 1^er cru plots as well as a few rows of vines on the legendary Grand Cru Chevalier-Montrachet. The harvest is manual, the clay-limestone terroir and the aging of the wines generally lasts 1 year in barrels before being completed by 6 months in vats in order to bind the whole. The vintages are all of an excellent level and finesse as well as minerality are the common markers of Alain Chavy's wines.
