The estate : The Chavy  are a renowned family of winemakers from Puligny-Montrachet.In 1997, brothers Alain and Jean-Louis took over their father Gérard Chavy's estate. In 2003, they decided to create two distinct vineyards and thus divided the family operation equitably. Today, Alain oversees 10 hectares of vines, primarily in the AOC Puligny-Montrachet, where he has numerous 1^er cru plots as well as a few rows of vines in the legendary Grand Cru Chevalier-Montrachet. The harvest is manual, the soil is clay-limestone, and the wine aging process generally lasts 1 year in barrels before being completed by 6 months in tanks to unify the whole. The cuvées are all of excellent quality, and the finesse and minerality are the common markers of Alain Chavy's wines.
