Chivas Regal - Blended Scotch Whisky - Mizunara

The Spirit : Chivas Mizunara is the first Scotch whiskey to have been finished in Mizunara oak barrels. This Japanese wood, more porous than average, gives here a particularly elegant character to this Blended Scotch. If the Chivas style is indeed present with a sweet, creamy and gourmet character evolving on fruity notes (peach, pear), vanilla, hazelnut and caramel, a spicy touch (pepper, cinnamon) also delicately perfumes the palate with a beautiful roundness. In summary, a very good Scotch that would recall the delicacy of certain Japanese whiskies and a very nice initiation for amateurs wishing to discover the typical characteristics of Mizunara!

Founded in 1801 by two brothers James and John Chivas in Aberdeen, Scotland, the small deli from the start has since grown into the premier brand of premium Scotch whiskeys in Europe and Asia. The Chivas Regal brand was launched in 1909 when the Chivas Brothers group entered the American market. Since 1950, Chivas whiskeys have been patiently created within the Strathisla distillery, the oldest and perhaps the most impressive distillery in the Highlands. In 2001, Pernod-Ricard bought the Scottish brand in order to continue to promote internationally its round and creamy whiskeys that delight neophytes and amateurs.
